Book me, David Parker to write and conduct your symbolic wedding ceremony (blessing), where you make your vows in front of your family and friends. The ideal thing about this type of wedding ceremony is that it can be held at most venues and does not need any special license. My wedding ceremonies are handwritten individually and together with your input, I can make your wedding ceremony a lot more meaningful to you as a couple. I live in Spain all year round, but I am native English (British), and without any strong accent, so your ceremony will be clear and legible too!
Note: Of course, while this type of symbolic wedding ceremony can be ideal for many couples, especially those celebrating their wedding in Spain, it is not legally binding, so you would still need to attend the registry office or Church back home to obtain a full, legal marriage certificate.

My professional services cover the Malaga province of Spain, often known as the Costa del Sol, but I do sometimes travel a little further. You can book me to officiate your wedding ceremony at the venue of your choice. I can provide a microphone and speaker system for amplification if required. Handfasting Ceremonies
Handfasting is a symbolic act that takes place during a wedding ceremony, the hands of the happy couple are bound together with a ribbon or a cord, this represents the joining of the couple and their commitment to each other. These types of symbolic additions can be included in your wedding ceremony here in Spain. Every wedding ceremony is crafted to create a personal touch.
Sand Blending Ceremonies
As you both pour different coloured sands into one container they intertwine, representing your lives when you marry. You are still two separate personalities, but you now follow the same path! The resulting bottle of sand can also be kept as a reminder of this special day for years to come!
How it works..
- 1. Contact me for availability, with the location of your venue, the date and the time of the wedding Ceremony.
- 2. Pay a small deposit of 100 Euros by Bank transfer or PayPal to book the service, the agreed balance is then paid on the day, or a week before if by bank transfer.
- 3. We will converse by Email and video chat, or by phone to prepare the wedding ceremony just how you like it!
- 4. I arrive at the venue 1 hour before the wedding ceremony, to ensure everything is good to go!
- 5. You take the walk down the aisle and I will officiate the ceremony, in front of all your family and friends, helping to make you both feel at ease as I do so!
Can I legally Marry in Spain?
This a question that is often asked but with no easy answer! If you are not a resident of Spain, then it's not easy to legally marry here in Spain (Unless you are Spanish) and that is why so many couples use a celebrant, such as myself to officiate the wedding ceremony while doing the legal formalities back home. Wedding ceremonies officiated by a humanist celebrant/minister, like myself, can be performed just about anywhere, and are designed to be just like the real thing, if not better! If you are a resident of Spain, then it may be possible to legally marry in one of the Spanish registry offices or at your local town hall. However, it's still not the same as dressing up a ceremony area at your chosen wedding venue, so many couples still choose to make the registry a smaller affair. In contrast, the wedding blessing ceremony is treated like the real thing!
An exception to this is catholic Church weddings, as they can be conducted in one of the fantastic Catholic churches in Spain and are then legally recognised internationally! If you need help with a catholic church wedding ceremony I can connect you with experienced wedding planners who are based in the local area and can help you with all the arrangements. There are some lovely Churches in Nerja, Marbella and everywhere in between! If at least one of you is Catholic and neither has been married before, it may be possible to marry in the Catholic Church.
